And Thats A Wrap

So picking up where we left off, around 8pm in LAX, waiting for our flight to Sydney.  When the V Australia counter opened, we got more tickets printed off, no hassles.  At 9.40ish, we boarded our flight, I had the aisle seat in the middle section and Kade was next to me.  The flight took off after taxing for 20 minutes, and then they started serving dinner at around 11.45 LA time.  By this time, I was so tired I was falling asleep onto the tray in front of me, waiting for dinner to be served so I could eat and sleep.  I managed a few bites of a chicken dish (Kade had the beef stew), and fell asleep until 7am LA time.  I think this was 1am home time, around that anyway.  I got up, stretched, and then watched some TV (Parenthood) and a movie (Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief).  By then it was breakfast time and as I don’t like eggs, especially on a plane after no sleep, I got to have waffles :) Kade opted for waffles too, and after we ate them and they were cleared away, it was nearly time to start the descent.  We arrived into Sydney at 6.30am (we are now back on home time), 30 minutes late.  We had a 9am flight from Sydney to Brisbane, with check in an hour earlier, so we knew we wouldn’t have much time. At immigration we split, as Kade has one of the new fancy chip passports and I don't.  Kade made it through first, and started getting our 6 bags off the carousal as I went through.  We then proceeded to wait for around 30 minutes before we got all our bags.  By then its 7.30 and we are getting a bit nervous.  We joined the customs line that had the smallest wait, and got the bags scanned. We had to declare a few things, and all made it ok except a dream catcher, that we would have to treat, but the cost of treating it was more then the cost of the dream catcher, so we let it go.  We went into Virgin Transfer area, saw the LONG line, and went oh no.  The line was LONG.  At 7.50 (we had to be checked in by 8) I went to a guy on the side, organising the line, and told him we were already checked in to the flight, but had lost our boarding passes and had our baggage to put through.  As our bags were all tagged with V Australia stuff from the flight to Sydney, and we were checked in, he was able to print out new boarding passes and get our bags checked in.  We left the International Terminal at 7.59, just having made the flight check in time.  We caught the shuttle to the Domestic terminal, found out there was a gate change, found the correct gate, and waited for 40 minutes as the flight was late.
So we got the flight from Sydney, arrived in Brisbane and got picked up by Mum and Barry.  We managed to get all the bags, and head out to the car in around 20 minutes.  Our first stop on the way home was for lunch, as it had been nearly 12 hours since we had last eaten.  My request was for Diggers pies, so we got meat pies for lunch with Bundaberg Ginger Beer.  Mmm...We had lunch at Mum and Barry’s house, as we needed to borrow a car for a few days so it was a good time to pick it up.
After lunch, we headed to our house and saw the pets for the first time in nearly 6 months.  They were both a little weary to begin with, but soon were used to us again.  We got all our stuff inside, sat down and looked around.
