A Lot Can Happen in a Week

A lot has happened in the last week. Let’s start with the most exciting…

We have booked our trip to Disney World :). We are going for two weeks, after Easter holidays have finished, staying at Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. The campgrounds are part of Disney’s complex, and are HUGE. They offer 3 different types of accommodation there, you can either camp in tents, RVs, or rent cabins. We have booked for the RV, a site that has electricity, water, sewerage and cable (TV only, internet costs more). The campgrounds seem to be a little known place, at least to Australians, however they have over 700 sites you can stay at. They have been operating since the 1970’s and are the cheapest way to stay on Disney soil. By staying actually at Disney, we get a few other benefits, such as the extended park hours. To get to Magic Kingdom, we can catch a ferry across. Or the bus, but the ferry sounds better, and it is exclusive to Ft Wilderness. The campgrounds also offer nightly campfire sing-a-longs followed by Disney movies shown on an outside screen. As part of the package deal, we have 10 days entry into all parks, including the water parks, with the park hopper option, meaning we can go to Magic Kingdom for the morning, then to one of the water parks to cool down, then to EPCOT in the afternoon and Hollywood Studios for the evening show if we wish. We also have a meal plan, where we each get two snacks a day (soft drink, fruit, ice cream, popcorn etc) and two meals (breakfast is a drink, food and OJ, lunch and dinner are a drink, meal and dessert) at any of the quick service meal places in any resort/park (there are around 100 or so we can choose from). Quick service meals are not sit down table service; they are essentially ‘fast food’, meaning pizza, burgers, and sandwiches. Some places have ribs, chicken and salad items, and at EPCOT you do get a variety of food, as they have the International Pavilion we can eat at. We decided to get the eating plan, as it eliminates the need to have to worry about food while at Disney. We can just go and enjoy :)

We saw the celebrant (Kylie referred to as celebrant Kylie so not to confuse her with sister Kylie) on Thursday night. Its all getting sorted out, we need to decide on wording and finish our vows, which we are writing. We also need to see if we can find the pen that Kade wants, that’s my current mission.

We bought Kades backpack finally as well. We spoke to my cousin Andrew when he was staying with us, and Andrew recommend a Black Wolf ‘Cuba’ backpack. So we checked it out online, and found the best price we could, then went to Anaconda to make sure it fitted Kade, before we bought it online. Well, Anaconda were having a 20% off that brand of bag sale, and combining that with the fact I became a member we managed it get it for $50 cheaper, therefore the same price as what we would have paid online for it. So that’s one less thing to worry about.

We have also bought the pet food/litter/flea stuff…Enough to last for at least 8 months, if not a year. That’s a lot of food…

We are seeing the reception people tomorrow morning, as well as the Bed and Breakfast people. We need to finalise food; timings etc with the reception, and make sure our booking with late checkout etc is still good for the B&B.

My dress is going good, tomorrow the bodice is being attached to the skirt, and then on Saturday before the Hens night, I get to stand in it for a few hours as things are hand sewn on and hemmed…but all in all everything is going good. The bridesmaids dresses are nearly complete, as is the hemming of the groomsmen suits.

3 days of work left for me, before I go casual…3 weeks 4 days until the wedding…5 weeks 5 days until we fly out…

So who needs a job anyway...

Well, I have resigned.  Officially.  I handed my letter in today.  So I now am jobless as of the 12th Feb. Except for the tutoring, night fill and the fact I'm going back to work casually for a few weeks both before and after the wedding...but apart from that I have resigned and am jobless :)

On another note, we are stocking up on pet accessories.  Food, litter, flea/tick/worm tablets...We are waiting for the pet shop to get back to us with a quote on how much it will all cost...

Well its late and I have a big day tomorrow...
