Life After Disney

Sorry for the lack of postings while at Disney.  The only downside to the campgrounds was the internet, you had to pay for it and it was EXTREMELY slow and unreliable.  It took us 2 hours to post the blogs the week we arrived there (not writing them, we did that in the RV earlier, but just trying to put them on the blog site).

We left Disney and headed to the outlet shops close by, they had a Disney store there, as well as a Converse store.  Kade got a Disney rain jacket and I got a zip hoodie, both $35 dollars off the price they were at Disney World.  We also got a blanket to go with the blanket we got at Disneyland.  It was classed as the 2009 Holiday blanket (even though there is nothing on it to say 2009 or holiday) so we got it at a good discount.  The Disney outlet stores are good as they have the stock marked down, the downside is (as with any outlet store really) they don't always have your size and the stock selection isn't always the best.  We headed to the Converse store next, and I got a pair of Cons, low top traditional black ones, that had been made to look aged.  $20.  Gotta love the clearance rack :)

Kade needed new skatey shoes as his old ones of 10 years were starting to look a bit old and they got soaked at Disney and dried slightly moldy.  He found a pair of Macbeth shoes, the brand is co-founded by Tom from Blink 182.  After that we left the stores and headed down Florida, as we are making our way to the Keys.  We stopped at a KOA around 100 miles from Everglades National Park, as our main goal was to get on the internet, blog, and plan the next part of the trip, as well as answering a stack of emails.  It is now day three we are at the KOA, as I made a mistake and booked the Florida Key State Park (our next stop) for Thursday and Friday night instead of Wednesday and Thursday night.  We headed to Walmart yesterday to stock up on some items, and I vowed to stick to the list I had made.  We managed (well Kade managed) to do that mostly, but we saw a grill for $30, and
while looking at it, we saw another one for $15.  We had wanted some form of outside cooking  tool, and decided to get it.  We got coals that had mesquite wood in them, our new favorite flavour.  I added grill to the list so we could buy it :).  We headed back to the RV and got ready to do 2 weeks of laundry...that's 6 loads including sheets and towels.  After the laundry, we started the grill for the first time, and quickly learnt the ins and outs of grilling.  We had steak and potatoes on the grill, with salad and it was a great dinner.

That brings us to today, where we are relaxing, may go for a swim, and not doing much else.  From here we head to the Keys for two nights, and then up to near Cape Canaveral for a few days, then into Georgia.  Things are going great, we are loving the RV lifestyle, as we have done most of the 'firsts' now, after filling our freshwater tank and putting out the awing for the first time yesterday.  We are learning to be neater too, as the RV gets messy very fast and we are finding places to put things.  We have just finished dinner, roast pork cooked on the grill with sweet potatoes, home made corn bread and sweet tea.  The sun doesn't set until around 8.30 here, and the weather is in the low to mid 30's.  We head to the Keys tomorrow, and wont have the internet for a few days.  We will blog again when we get back from the Keys. Hope all is well with everyone back home :)

Really enjoying reading about all your travels Kade and Kate. Of course, it brings back memories of our 12 month trip around Australia in 1997. I hope this trip of yours is just one of many more to come!
